Arab Climate Campaign
"Climate change is the most severe threat facing our planet and immediate action is needed.."
Human caused climate change is a reality, and is threatening every species on this planet. Over the past two hundred years, our overdependence on oil and coal is leading to the rise in the earth's temperature and thus to other climatic changes. In the coming few years, climate change will be affecting the whole planet. It has started and will continue to affect our water supply, food security, health and environment.
Hundreds of millions of people would increasingly suffer from waterborne diseases, food shortage, famine, hunger, flooding in addition to other environmental stresses due to climate change. The time has arrived to take radical measures and mitigate the climate crisis and save the planet through increasing our energy efficiency and switching to renewable energy.
IndyAct is leading an "Arab World Climate Campaign", which calls on the Arab League to take urgent action against climate change. We demand rich oil producing countries, like Saudi Arabia, to share responsibility with the developed world for climate change, and for developing Arab states to establish CO2 gas emission caps.
